The amazing benefits for our Health!
Eating avocados has been linked to several health benefits:
- It also contains more potassium than bananas, i.e. per 100g it covers approximately 14% of the recommended dietary intake of potassium. Potassium is very important for maintaining blood pressure at low levels, thus preventing stroke and contributing to the proper functioning of the heart.
- Their high fiber content, 7g per 100g of avocado, helps with good bowel function, blood sugar regulation and a lower risk of many diseases.
- Studies have shown that it is helpful in reducing blood "bad" LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, while increasing "good" HDL cholesterol. Thus, it is an excellent ally in maintaining a healthy lipid profile.
- Due to its fatty composition, avocado can greatly contribute to the absorption of fat-soluble components, such as vitamins A, D, E, K, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances.
- It has a high content of lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants "guardians" of eye health.
- It can help regulate body weight and lose weight, as it causes satiety for several hours due to the fiber and fat it contains. Also, due to the low carbohydrates it contains, it can promote the effort to reduce or maintain body weight.
